This short-but-steepish hike is on the eastern slope of Mt. Pilchuck. It is 3.8 miles long and gains about 1200 feet in the 1.9 miles it takes to get up there. When we hiked it in May there was quite a bit of snow still on the trail and covering the lake. While it was a pretty and serene lake, there are definitely more beautiful alpine lakes in WA. I recommend this to people who have done all of WA’s staple hikes and need a hike that is more under the radar.
If you do this hike be sure to check out Bear Lake as a quick side trip off the trail! Its a large lake that is definitely worth checking out.
