Burroughs Mountain Trail, WA

If you are looking to get up-close-and-personal with Mt. Rainier– this trail provides and intimate view of our behemouth mountain. Starting from the Sunrise Visitors Center the trail steadily climbs until you hit the snow. You will gain some significant elevation pretty quickly. We brought snowshoes which made it a bit easier to trek through the soft August snow.

You go through Burroughs One and Burroughs Two before reaching the third peak, you guessed it, Burroughs Three. It seemingly brings you right to the face of the mountain and presents you with a killer view.
