On the East side of Lake Chelan, there are some magnificent views when you explore the Forest Service Roads right outside Manson. A friend had been camping up here once for hawk-watching, and showed me this super secret spot. If you can handle the white knuckles of going up a winding cliff-side forest road, you will be very much rewarded with views of Lake Chelan and the Methow Valley. For the location of our camping spot, send me a message, as I don’t want to send crowds up to this unspoiled beauty. Not much for hiking, but definitely some exploring, light rock-climbing, photography, and bird-watching!
