These pictures don’t do Heather Lake justice. Even on a foggy day like this one, this lake cirque is a beautiful and dramatic alpine lake. There are towering peaks surrounding a pristine lake that you can circumnavigate when you reach it. It can be tricky to follow the trail around the lake, but makes for a fun adventure.

This hike is right off of mountain loop, just past the Lake 22 Trailhead. It is a quick 4.6 miles with only about 1000 feet of elevation gain.
